What is audio transcription and who does it?
Audio transcription is the conversion of audio recordings into written text. The conversion is done by highly trained and experienced transcribers who listen to the audio recordings and then create text documents from them. Candid Technology hires only the best. Unlike some other transcription services, 100% of our transcriptions are done by human transcribers and not machines.
How accurate are your transcriptions?
We can guarantee that our transcriptions are 99%+ accurate. However, this is subject to the quality of the audio and the highest accuracy is achieved on good quality recordings.
How do you guarantee accuracy?
We guarantee accuracy by making sure that all transcriptions are checked up to 3 times by our transcribers and quality analysts to make sure no errors pass through our stringent quality checks.
What is a “poor quality” audio recording?
A poor audio recording is a recording that for various reasons including background noise, low quality recording devices, too many speakers at the same time, very heavily accented speakers or static is difficult to hear and understand.
What audio formats do you transcribe?
We are capable of transcribing both analogue and digital audio formats including micro and mini cassettes, MP3, MP4, WAV, AVI, WMA, etc. Click here to view a complete list of formats we can handle.
Is English the only language you transcribe?
No. We are able to transcribe a number of languages including Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Chinese and Hindi. We have an experienced team of native speakers ready to do foreign language transcription.
Can you transcribe from one language to another?
Yes, we can convert audio in one language to text in another. For example, we can transcribe Spanish audio into English text and vice versa. We offer combined transcription and translation services to better suit your needs.
How long will it take to finish my transcription?

How much does audio transcription cost?

How do I get my audio recordings to you?
We can receive audio files of up to 25MB in size through email. For larger files you can upload them through our secure FTP server. Also, we can download files directly from any URL you specify at no extra cost. In the case of physical cassette tapes you can mail them to us at:

How do I get my finished transcript?
You can receive your finished transcript in MS Word format by email attachment or by secure, password protected, SSL download, FTP (normal method) or in a format you prefer (pdf or MS Word) by email attachment or by secure, password protected, SSL download, FTP (custom method).
